Impreziosisce l’esposizione un Catalogo molto particolare, la copertina è un’opera di Carlo Maglitto, mentre le pagine sono realizzate dagli stessi artisti invitati. The exhibition is embellished with a very special catalog, the cover is a work by Carlo Maglitto, while the pages are made by the invited artists themselves.
L’8 dicembre 2018, h 15-20 si inaugura nella Galleria di VILLA BIENER una mostra che mi sta particolarmente a cuore, poiché io, come Joséphine Baker, “ho due amori”: i libri e l’arte e non potrei avere maggiore soddisfazione che vederli fusi in un’opera d’arte unica. Ed è per questo che la mostra si intitola “UNIQUE – libro d’artista”.
Buttato il rigore alle ortiche abbiamo deciso di presentare una carrellata di opere provenienti da una parte dalla nostra collezione, pezzi “storici”, qualche volta stampati in edizioni numerate, talvolta vere rarità, e dall’altra parte realizzati come pregiati manufatti dagli artisti invitati a partecipare. Loro hanno usato una vasta gamma di forme, tra cui rotoli, pieghevoli, concertine, fogli rilegati o liberi, sculture, piume, luci, contenuti in scatole ma anche appesi alle pareti.
Per i più curiosi anticipo alcuni nomi: dalla CAMPAROTTO, una casa editrice di Udine, tre libretti a firma di Marcello DIOTALLEVI, Concetto POZZATI e Mimmo ROTELLA, dalla Sicilia Zoltan FAZEKAS e il Gruppo CANECAPOVOLTO di Catania e Gianni CARUSO di Palermo che ora vive a Imperia come anche Fabiano SPEZIARI, sempre dall’Italia Giosetta FIORONI, Mimmo PALADINO, SARENCO (Poesia visiva), Alberto CASIRAGHY con un libretto “PULCINOELEFANTE”, Maurizio CATTELAN con il catalogo del Guggenheim, Loredana GALANTE, Fausto GILBERTI e Stefania ZORZI di Brescia (quest’ultima ora vive in Austria), della provincia di Cuneo Ugo GILETTA, Alessia CLEMA, Daniele GUOLO e Gian Piero VIGLINO, della Svizzera Daniela Mencarelli HOFMANN e Paul KLEE, dal Belgio Eric DUYCKAERTS, dalla Russia ?JZENŠTEJN (dell’indimenticabile Corazzata Potemkin dei cineforum!), Belle SHAFIR di Tel Aviv, della Gran Bretagna David PELHAM, James PFAFF e Kevin FLYNN, un folto gruppo di ungheresi: Aron GÁBOR, Zsuzsa HELLER, Lajos KASSAK (Bauhaus), János KASS, Béla KONDOR, Lajos KOZMA (Liberty ungherese), Attila STARK e SZOMBATHY Bálint e infine noi della Villa Biener di Cipressa: Carlo MAGLITTO e Judit TÖRÖK.

On 8 December 2018, h 15-20, an exhibition in the VILLA BIENER Gallery will be particularly close to my heart, as I, like Joséphine Baker, “have two loves”: books and art and I could not have more satisfaction than see them merged into a unique work of art. And this is why the exhibition is titled “UNIQUE – artist’s book”.
Threw the rigor to the nettles we decided to present a roundup of works coming from a part of our collection, “historical” pieces, sometimes printed in numbered editions, sometimes true rarity, and on the other hand realized as fine artifacts by the artists invited to take part. They have used a wide range of shapes, including rolls, folds, concertinas, bound or free sheets, sculptures, feathers, lights, contained in boxes but also hanging on the walls.
